Born September 12, 1929 in Leningrad.
Director, screenwriter, producer.
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1986).
Graduated from the directing department of LGITMiK (1960) .
He worked in theaters in Leningrad. In 1954-1964 - assistant director and director of the Lensovet Theater, director-teacher of LGITMiK.
Since 1964 - director of the Lenfilm film studio. He shot a number of musical television films ("City and Song", "City Melodies").
Head of the Film Directing Workshop of the St. Petersburg Institute of Film and Television.
Passed away on April 21, 2012.
