Jennifer Weiss is a former Democratic member of the North Carolina General Assembly.
Weiss was named to NC House on November 1999. She is the Chair of the Finance Committee. In her tenure, she received the 2007 NC AARP Outstanding Legislator Award, the 2002 NC Press Association William C. First Amendment Lassiter Award and the 2004 Amendment Amendment Award from the NC National Association of Social Workers.
In 2012, Weiss announced that she would not seek re-election.
Weiss earned her BA in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1981 and her JD from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1986.She resigned five months after her son was born and two of her husbands moved from Boston to Cary, North Carolina.
