Actor, playwright, director. In 1931 he graduated from the Leningrad Theater Institute. He worked at the Young Theater (1929-1932), at the OKDVA Theater (1932-1934). In 1934-1967 in the troupe of the Leningrad Comedy Theater. Author of the plays "Stone Belt" (1943), "Sunday Visit" (1948). Gruvemuvestart Honored Artist of the RSFSR. Honored Artist of the Tajik SSR (from 1941 to 1944 the troupe of the Comedy Theater worked in the evacuation in Tajikistan).
