Born on February 1, 1918 in Moscow. Studied in the studio under the guidance of Yu.A. Zavadsky. In 1939-1941 he was an artist of the Moscow Lensovet Theater. In 1941-1943 he was an artist of the Moscow Drama Theater. Since 1943 - actor of the Mossovet Theater. A master of the episode, in a number of roles he created grotesque, eccentric images. Took part in the dubbing of cartoons (Baron Munchausen) .
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (12/26/1963). People's Artist of the RSFSR (20.07.1973) .
He passed away on October 1, 1994 in Moscow. Buried at the Vagankovskoye cemetery, plot number 4.
