In 1973 he graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography (class of V.V. Merkuriev and I.V. Meyerhold).
From 1973 to 1975 he was an actor in the Film Actor Theater of the Lenfilm film studio. Since 1975 - artist of the Leningrad Maly Drama Theater (Theater of Europe).
