Tadeusz Lomnicki was born in Pidhaitsy in 1927. After graduating from the school of trade, he moved to Krakow, where he began to work as a worker on the railway. During the Second World War, Tadeusz was a member of the organization "Gray Ranks", then served in the Home Army.

The first post-war year he worked in the police, and in 1945 the young man decided to fulfill his old dream of an acting career. He became a student at the school at the Old Theater, which at that time was one of the most prestigious theaters in Poland. His stage debut took place there. Then Tadeusz moved to the Slovacki Theater, for some time he worked at the theater in Katowice. In 1949, the actor left for Warsaw and joined the troupe of the Contemporary Theater.

In 1948, the audience saw the first film with Tadeusz Lomnicki - Heart of Steel. Then he starred in the films Two Brigades, Crew, Five from Barskaya Street. And in 1955 he was called to the main role in the war drama Generation. This picture made the actor famous not only among the population of Poland, but also abroad. After this role, Lomnitsky continued to actively act in films until 1991. Over the years, he managed to work on fifty paintings, including Eroika, Attempt, the Base of Dead People, Innocent Sorcerers, The First Day of Freedom, Pan Volodyevsky, The Outlaw Leaves a Trail, The Man of Marble, The Flood, Case.

In 1956-1957, Tadeusz also worked at the National Theater. In addition to working on stage, Lomnicki became interested in drama, a couple of plays of his work were staged on the stages of theaters in Krakow and Kielce. The actor performed at the Contemporary Theater until 1974. On its stage, the roles of Tadeusz Lomnitsky were played in productions based on the works of Goethe, Brecht, Tolstoy, Durrenmatt. Since 1970, for eleven years, he held the position of rector at the Warsaw Higher School of Theater. At the same time, he founded his own theater - the Theater on Volya, and became its first artistic director.

The actor died of a heart attack in early 1992. Buried at the Pow Повzki War Cemetery.
