Born in Russia, the son of the British, George Sanders, returned to Britain with his family on the eve of the Great October Revolution. After graduating from a private school in Brighton, Sanders worked as a copywriter. Possessing a beautiful baritone, Sanders followed the advice of his colleagues to try his hand at acting and began performing in the choir of London's West End. This was followed by performances in cabaret, on the radio, dubbing in the theater, and then a role in the film "Find a Lady" (1963). He has been married four times.
