Born on February 16, 1925 in Moscow.
The younger brother of the playwright and poet Alexander Galich (1918-1977).
In 1949 he graduated from the camera department of VGIK; as a trainee student he worked in the film crew of Sergei Gerasimov and Vladimir Rapoport.
In 1949, after graduating from VGIK, he was sent to the Gorky Film Studio, worked as a second cameraman for Vladimir Rapoport.
In 1960-1976 he was a lecturer at the camera department of VGIK.
Until 1998 - operator of the Gorky Film Studio.
He passed away on October 23, 1998 in Moscow. He was buried at the Vvedenskoye cemetery (plot No. 23).
