Born June 5, 1937, Magadan, USSR (Russia) - Soviet Armenian film director and cameraman.

In 1963 he graduated from the camera department of VGIK (workshop of B. Volchek), in 1967 - the Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors. Since 1967 - director of the Gorky Film Studio.

He began his creative career in cinema as a cameraman. One of the directors of the Yeralash newsreel.

The film "Ivanov's boat" (1972) lay "on the shelf", in 1987 restored and released on the screen.
