Honored, People's Artist of the Soviet Union Nikolai Plotnikov came to this world on November 5, 1897 in the village of Vyazma, which is territorially in the Smolensk province, Russia. Nikolai had a difficult childhood, he was born into a large family, they lived poorly, but peacefully. Everyone, in one way or another, was engaged in creativity, the sisters played musical instruments, my father read poetry, Plotnikov was brought up by a creative person. When Kolya was 13 years old, his mother fell ill and suddenly died, his father could not stand the shock and also died, his sister was killed. Hard times have come to the Plotnikov family. The minor children were adopted by the mother's sister and the father's brother.
In St. Petersburg, where Nikolai was sent, he served at the printing press, where the artist's talent was revealed. When Plotnikov turned 18, he moved to Moscow, worked for a long time as an artist and took orders for the design of wrappers and advertising posters. In the 40s, the war began, Nikolai, like all young people of that age, was drafted into the army. When Plotnikov was demobilized, he returned to work at the printing house, but, having decided to change his life radically, he entered the studio theater at the Moscow Art Theater, where M. Chekhov was the director. The artist's creative career developed on different stages - in the Realistic Theater, the Theater of the Revolution, the Theater Studio named after I. Mayakovsky, the last place of work was TsTKA.
The audience was most remembered for such roles of Nikolai Plotnikov as Blokhin in the play Days of Our Lives, James Vicam in the play The Promised Land, Vasily Shuisky in the play The Great Sovereign, Lenin in the play The Man with a Gun, Korshunov in the play How People Live and many others. Also, being in adulthood, Plotnikov acted as a production director for many performances, under his strict guidance the world saw such completed plays as The Sentence, Six Loved Ones, the Director, Life begins again and many others.
In parallel, the artist acted in films. The first film with Nikolai Plotnikov was released in 1933 under the title One Joy, in 1935 the film Dreamers appeared, in which he played the character of Mikhalych. The actor has more than 20 films on his account, the most popular are The lonely sail - 1937, In people - 1938, Wedding - 1944, White Fang - 1946, Vanka - 1959 and others.
The artist died on February 2 in Moscow, in 1979.
