In 1941, Victor graduated from eight years of high school. From June to September 1941 he worked as an apprentice of an electric motor wrapper in an electromechanical workshop, from September 1941 to January 1942 as an apprentice of a turner at a Moscow auto repair plant. After the evacuation of the latter, from February 1942 to August 1947, Markin worked at the Moscow Aviation Plant: first as an apprentice machine operator, then as a metal turner (in August 1946 he was transferred to the post of foreman).

In September 1945 he continued his secondary education in the evening school for working youth No. 77, where he finished 9th and 10th grades.

In the summer of 1947, he entered the acting department of VGIK in the studio of Boris Andreevich Babochkin, in 1952 he graduated from it and was assigned to the staff of the Film Actor's Theater-Studio and the Mosfilm film studio.

For 34 years of work in cinematography, he has appeared in more than a hundred films. Its main characters were doctors, teachers, executives, engineers, and the military.

From 1959 to 1966, Viktor Markin was married to Anna Ivanovna Markina. They had no children.

In June 1986 he retired and did not act in films again. Since 1995 he lived in the House of Cinema Veterans in Matveyevskoye with his wife Tamara Vasilievna.
