Born on April 17, 1940 in Minsk, in the family of a musical, theatrical figure and engineer.
Graduated from the directing department of the Belarusian Theater Institute (1962) and the directing department of VGIK (1969, workshop of Yakov Segel). Gruvemuvestart
Worked as a second director at the Belarusfilm studio (Pushchik goes to Prague - 1965, directed by Lev Golub, and other films). He starred in the TV series The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. VGIK teacher.
In 1999, Valery Rubinchik headed the studio of film and television directing at the Institute of Contemporary Art, and since 2004 became the dean of the faculty of film and TV directing at this university.
He passed away on March 2, 2011 in Moscow.
