Born March 1, 1917 in Petrograd.
In 1939 he graduated from the Leningrad Theater Institute and was accepted into the troupe of the Russian Theater of the Byelorussian SSR.
In 1941 he moved to the 2nd State Theater (now the Yakub Kolas Belarusian State Academic Theater).
People's Artist of the Byelorussian SSR (1959).
People's Artist of the USSR (04/02/1975) .

He passed away on May 1, 2009 in Vitebsk.
