Was born in Ukraine. He had two educations - technical and theatrical (he graduated from GITIS - State Institute of Theater Arts, where he studied with one of the leading figures of the Moscow Art Theater, V.A.Orlov). After graduation, he worked at the drama theater in Stalingrad. Then he was admitted to the Moscow theater TsTSA (Central Theater of the Soviet Army).
