Pletnev Kirill Vladimirovich was born on December 30, 1979 in Kharkov. From early childhood he lived in Leningrad, where he graduated from school. In 1996 he entered SPGATI, the course directed by Vladimir Petrov.
After graduating from the academy in 2000, he was shown in several Moscow theaters. He joined the troupe of the Moscow Drama Theater under the leadership of Armen Dzhigarkhanyan and moved to Moscow. In the spring of 2003 he left the Dzhigarkhanyan Theater. In the same year, he began working with theater director Irina Keruchenko.
He is married to actress Lydia Milyuzina. In April 2011, a child was born - a son.
