An outstanding cultural figure, People's Artist Mira Koltsova (Miriam Mikhailovna Ravicher), ballet dancer, choreographer and choreographer, was born in Moscow in December 1938. Her mother, Anna Koltsova (1913–1989), was an employee of the Ministry of Defense, and she danced in her youth.

The first husband of Mira Mikhailovna - Boris Sankin - choreographer, professor. Their common son, Philip Koltsov, is a composer, holder of the Order of Service to Art. Mira's second and current husband is People's Artist of Russia, conductor L.K.Smirnov. Koltsova's grandson is Nikolai Koltsov, a future composer who has already successfully performed at international competitions. Philip's wife, Natalya, is a philologist, her book won the 2011 national competition.
Thanks to Koltsova, Russian folk dances are known and loved not only at home, but also far beyond its borders. For her work and great contribution to the Russian folk dance art Mira Mikhailovna received many awards and titles.
