Zhizneva Olga Andreevna (the real name of the actress Zhiznevskaya) was born on April 5, 1899. When the girl was about a year old, her mother died, and until the age of six, Olya was raised by her grandmother, and then she returned to her father. When the future star of the Soviet cinematographer grew up, she took her last name in memory of her mother and became Olga Zhizneva. The girl decided to become an actress in the difficult year of 1917.
Olga Zhizneva studied acting at the F. Korsch School and at the State Demonstration Theater Drama School. In 1920 she made her debut on the stage of the Theater. Gorky in the city of Nakhichevan. After that, the artist successfully performed on the stages of theaters in Moscow, Kharkov, Leningrad, Kazan and Kiev. The actress was the star of the cinema of the NEP era, but when the silent film replaced the sound one, and many actors left, Olga Zhizneva continued to play beautiful, rich and slightly bored women. For the first time the voice of the actress sounded in the film Strict Youth (1937). The director of the film, Abram Room, later became Olga's life partner. During her life, the actress performed many diverse roles in about forty film stories. The last film with Olga Life Property of the Republic, in which she played Princess Tikhvin, was released in 1972.
Olga Zhizneva was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR in 1950 and People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1969 for her bright talent. She was also given an award in 1949 for the image of Tatiana Dobrotvorskaya in the film Court of Honor.
The star of the Soviet theater and cinema has authored many essays on the work and life of actors, screenwriters, cameramen and directors with whom she has worked.
