Graduated from the directing department of VGIK (1968, workshop of E. Dzigan and B. Ivanov).
In 1957-1958 - literary secretary and correspondent for the magazine "Theater", theater expert. Since 1968 - director of the Gorky Film Studio. In 1975-1980 he shot stories for the children's newsreel "Yeralash" and custom films. Member of the Board of the Gorky Film Studio.
