Born on November 28, 1957 in the city of Kaluga. In 1983 he graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Theater Arts named after I.K. Karpenk - Kary, workshop of L.F. Pryadkina and E.L. Pluchika. Since 1989 - a member of the Union of Cinematographers of the USSR. Since 2005 - member of the European Guild of Cinematographers "IMAGO" .
As a cinematographer, he shot more than thirty newsreel documentaries and feature length films, awarded with prizes at international film festivals (Nika Prize, IFF in Berlin, IFF for Young Cinema in Valencia, IFF “Message to Man”, OKF for non-fiction films “Russia” in Yekaterinburg , IFF in Strasbourg, IFF of non-fiction films in Yamagata and others).
