Graduated from the directing department of VGIK (1983, the first workshop of M. Khutsiev). Author of one of the most commercial Soviet films "Little Vera", author of plots of popular TV programs "Dolls", Cartoon of Personality and the New Year TV movie "Old songs about the main thing 3" (ORT, TEFI Prize for the best TV program of the year). Director of many NTV programs ("Third Time", etc.). Member of the Board of the Film Studio. M. Gorky (under Livnev). The husband of screenwriter Maria Khmelik, son-in-law of the chief editor of the Yeralash newsreel Alexander Khmelik.
