Soviet and Russian actor Georgy Menglet was born in 1912 in Voronezh. Here he spent his childhood and early youth. In his school years, George became interested in art: books, theater and photography. According to Menglet, in many ways it was these hobbies that shaped him as a person.

Once, at a literature lesson, George's class read in faces the work Woe from Wit, and Menglet got the replicas of the main character. The teacher was impressed by the lesson and invited the children to organize their own theater. It was under her leadership that George, together with his classmates, played his first roles.

In 1936, after the studio was closed, Dikiy went to another theater and took with him some of his students, among whom was Menglet. A year later, their teachers were arrested, and Georgy and other pupils of Dikiy left for Stalinabad and created their own theater. In 1940, the institution they founded was named Mayakovsky.

Georgy continued to work hard on stage and began acting in films. The first film with Georgy Menglet - Schweik preparing for battle - was released in 1942. The film was directed by Sergei Yutkevich. A year after George's film debut, the next film appeared with his participation.
