Honored Worker of the USSR Ministry of Internal Affairs (1977). Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1981). People's Artist of Ukraine (11.09.1998) .
Born June 23, 1931 in the village of Bortkiv, Lviv region, Ukraine. Graduated from Lviv Polygraphic Institute (1955), Higher Directing Courses of VGIK at Kievnauchfilm (1964) .
He worked as an art editor for publishing houses in Yerevan and Kiev. In 1964-1967 he was a director of popular science cinema, since 1969 he was a director of the A.P. Dovzhenko.
