Born on April 22, 1937 in Anzhero-Sudzhensk.
Graduated from the Shchukin School in 1964. On the basis of their course, the Moscow Drama Theater on Taganka was created, in which he was an actor. He did not work there for long, went to television. Graduated from VGIK (screenwriting department) in absentia.
