British rock group that was one of the leaders of the "Manchester Wave" (Madchester) at the turn of the 1980s and 1990s. Their 1989 debut album The Stone Roses quickly became a classic in the UK. The second album, Second Coming, was released in 1994. In 1996 the group ceased to exist. The band announced their reunion on October 18, 2011 at a press conference at the SOHO Hotel in London.
