Was born on May 27, 1904 in Baku. Director, screenwriter. In 1924 he graduated from the Baku Theater School and moved to Moscow, in 1930-1933 he studied at the director's workshops of S. Eisenstein at the State Electoral Commission. Artist, actor and director of the theater "Blue Blouse", actor of the experimental-heroic theater B. Ferdinandov, cinema L. Kuleshov. In 1926-1927 he was an artist at S. Yutkevich's cinema workshop at ARRK. Since 1927 - assistant director of the Sovkino studio. At the Vostokfilm film studio he worked as an artist, screenwriter and director. He starred in the film "Oil Miner on Rest and Treatment" (1924), scripted for the films "Death Drive" (1929), sound program number 1 (1930, together with A. Room). Director of the sound version of the cartoon "Cockroach". Since 1936 - director of the Soyuzdetfilm film studio. In the mid-1950s, he also worked as a director for dubbing foreign films into Russian. Passed away - December 21, 1954 in Moscow.
