March 21, 1930, Moscow, RSFSR, USSR - March 30, 2016, Moscow, Russia - Soviet and Russian animation director, production designer, animator. In 1949, Butyrin graduated from the sculpture department of the Moscow Art and Industrial School named after I. M. I. Kalinin, after which he worked on the restoration and decoration of buildings damaged by the Great Patriotic War in Moscow and Leningrad.
In 1956 he enrolled in drawing courses at the Soyuzmultfilm studio and until 1963 worked in this profession. In 1964, he graduated from the courses of animators.
In 1968 he made his debut as a production designer in Boris Stepantsev's short animated film "The Kid and Carlson" .
Debuted as a director in 1973.
In 1977-1979 he worked in Minsk at the Belarusfilm film studio .
In 1980-1990 he worked as a director at the Multtelefilm studio of the Ekran company. There he shot television episodes "Well, wait a minute", "Tryam, hello", "On the road with the clouds", "Nekhochukha", "Big Uh" and other films.
Later, Butyrin collaborated with the studios Christmas Films, FAF and others.
In 1997 he released the full-length cartoon "Dunno on the Moon".
