Since 1925 - an actor of the Leningrad Academic Drama Theater, in 1927-1933 - an actor of the Moscow Drama Theater (formerly the Korsha Theater), in 1933-1935 - an actor of the MOSPS Theater in Moscow, since 1935 - an actor of the Academic Maly Theater. In cinema - since 1928.
He was buried in Moscow at the Novodevichy cemetery (site No. 2).
