Pavlenko Pavel Pavlovich was born in Kiev on September 20, 1902 in the family of an opera singer. When the boy was a year old, his father moved the whole family to the capital of the Russian Empire. In 1912, the future Honored Artist of the RSFSR entered the 9th Moscow gymnasium and continued his studies after the end of the revolution in school 109, which he graduated in 1920. From 1924 to 1948, the artist played many bright and diverse roles on the stages of the Moscow Theater for Children, the Kharkov Red Banner Theater, the Revolution Theater, the Moscow Zavadsky Theater, the Transport Theater, the Mossovet Theater, and the Moscow Operetta Theater.

The actor began to act in films already in adulthood, playing charming, funny or shy old people. The first film with Pavel Pavlenko, Composer Glinka, where he played Bulgarinov, was seen by Soviet viewers in 1952. Then there were roles in the films The Inspector General (1952), Ships storm bastions (1953), Hypnosis session (1953). In 1954, Pavel Pavlovich received the title of Honored Artist of the RSFSR. In total, during his film career, the actor starred in 22 films, but Pavlenko played the brightest and most memorable roles in the films directed by Alexander Rowe: in 1963 in the fairy tale Kingdom of Crooked Mirrors of the chief cerimonemeister, in 1964 the old father in the fairy tale Morozko, 1967 in the fairy tale Fire , water and copper pipes of Vodianov. The last film with Pavel Pavlenko, 12 Chairs, was released in 1976.

It is not known how the artist spent his last years, he died, forgotten by his fans on March 9, 1993 at the age of 90.
