Morena was born in Rio de Janeiro, but at the age of seven she moved to the United States, to New York, Greenwich Village. Her mother, Vera Setta (port of Vera Setta) is a Brazilian theater and television actress, and her father, Fernando Baccarin (port of Fernando Baccarin), is the Brazilian news recording coordinator.
Morena attended Public School 41 and New York City Lab School for Collaborative Studies, where her classmates were Claire Danes, Wes Bentley and Glenn Howertan. She later attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts before moving on to theater at Juilliard School, where she was with Drama Division's Group 29 (1996-2000). Moved to Los Angeles in the early 2000s.
