Fanny Ardan - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Star of European cinema. An outstanding, talented actress with a beautiful and expressive face. French actress Fanny Ardant (full name Fanny Marguerite Judith Ardant) was born on March 22, 1949 in Saumur (according to other sources - in Monte Carlo) in the family of a cavalry officer. She was educated as a political scientist at the university. Simultaneously with her studies at the university, she took acting courses, in 1974 she first performed on the theater stage. In 1979, Ardan got his first notable roles on television - in the productions of the director Nina Kompaneets "Women by the Sea" / "Neighbors", and in the cinema - in "Dogs / Dogs in the City" by Alain Zhesua. The luminary of filmmaking Francois Truffaut, who saw the actress on television, was struck first by her appearance and temperament, and after a personal acquaintance - by her intelligence and education. And although they managed to make only two films together - the love drama "Neighbor" and the detective story "Hurry Sunday! It seems that over the next ten years only intellectuals and aesthetes have been filming it: Alain Rene and Andre Delvaux, Volker Schlendorf and Margaret von Trott, and the plots of their paintings are entirely borrowed from equally serious authors: Henri Bernstein, Marcel Proust, Chekhov. For the general public, the name Ardan fades into the shadow zone. Fanny Ardant's big comeback was in the press in 1996, when the comedies "Evening Dress Up / Slightly Pedaling" by Gabriel Aguyon and "Taunt" by Patrice Leconte were released. For Aguillon's rather frivolous film on a "blue" theme, the "serious" actress was finally awarded for Best Actress at the 22nd Cesars ceremony on February 8, 1997, and Lecomte's film became the best in France, opened the Cannes Film Festival and was among foreign nominees for "Oscar". During her film career, Fanny Ardan has starred in more than 60 films of various genres: comedy, drama, adventure. She was invited by the most famous directors in the world. In 2003, at the 25th Moscow Film Festival, for her performance as the singer Maria Callas in Franco Zeffirelli's film Callas Forever, she was awarded the Stanislavsky Prize, awarded for special acting merit.
