Born on June 7, 1940 in the city of Kirensk, Irkutsk Region.
In 1960 he graduated from the drama school at the Gorky Academic Drama Theater named after Gorky.
He made his film debut in 1967 in the film by Andrei Mikhalkov-Konchalovsky "Noble Nest".
He worked in theaters in Gorky, Chita, Yaroslavl, Lipetsk, Bryansk.
In 1968-1995 he was an actor at the Gogol Theater.
In 1997-2004 - the chief director of the Bryansk Youth Theater.
People's Artist of the RSFSR (1986).
