Her father was a white officer, after the revolution he went abroad and never returned to Russia; died in France. The grandfather's brother, Anton Semyonovich Makarenko, replaced her father and the grandson was named after him, Anton. Sister - People's Artist of Russia Ekaterina Vasilyeva. Wife - Tatyana Yurievna Petrova (born September 19, 1957), People's Singer of Russia, performer of Russian folk songs, romances. Son - Vasilyev Vasily Antonovich (born November 13, 1985), Anton Vasiliev began to prepare himself for the profession of director from the sixth grade: he wrote stories, took a lot of pictures. In 1970, after graduating from school, despite a huge competition (265 applicants applied for one place), he entered the directing department of the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography and was enrolled in the workshop of Mikhail Ilyich Romm. Anton was lucky, he was among the last students of the outstanding master. After graduating from VGIK in 1975 and receiving the specialty of a director of feature films and television films, A.S. Vasiliev worked as a director at the film studio of the USSR Ministry of Defense (1976-1978), while serving in the army (1976-1977); in 1978 he worked at the Mosfilm film studio, then moved to the Gorky studio, where he worked as a director for 10 years (1979-1989). From 1989 to 1994 he was a director and scriptwriter at the Central Documentary Film Studio. Then he worked as a director of the Moscow Art Theater named after Gorky (1994-1996), the Omsk Drama Theater "Galerka" (1997). From 1985 to the present, he has been working under contracts for the Central Television. Since 1998 he has been teaching direction of feature films at VGIK. In 1985-1986. as a construction worker, then a restorer, he took part in the restoration of St. Daniel's Monastery. A.S. Vasiliev is the author of three full-length feature films: "Blazhnoy" (2 parts, 1978, cinema "Mosfilm"), "You cannot forbid living beautifully" (1982, cinema named after Gorky), "On the grass barefoot" (1987, Gorky cinema), scriptwriter for the films "Old Alphabet" ("Mosfilm", 1987), "Red and White", awarded the second prize at the festival "Golden Knight", 1996, as well as the director of the performances "Family Holidays" based on the play by Vasily Belov (Moscow Art Theater named after Gorky, 1996) and "My Sweetheart" based on the play by M. Varfolomeev (Omsk Drama Theater "Galerka", 1997). Currently, the director, together with Vadim Kozhinov, is working on the script for a newsreel documentary film from the history of Russia in the twentieth century. Problems of ecology and environmental protection occupy an important place in the work of A.S. Vasiliev. He first turned to it in 1983, when he realized the scale of the impending ecological catastrophe. The director's first film, Earth in Trouble (1985), filmed on amateur film and addressing these issues, was closely watched by the Politburo. At that time, the country's leadership was engaged in the transfer of part of the flow of northern rivers to the south and did not tolerate any criticism of their plans. Deciding on such a film at that time was truly a heroic act. This was followed by new films - "The Volga from the source to the lower" (1988), "I raise my eyes to the sky" (1989), "Holy Volga" (2 episodes, 1991). In addition to the murderous facts (during the construction of hydropower plants on the Volga, for example, more than 90 cities, a thousand villages were flooded) in the films of A.S. Vasiliev there is music, poetry and nice people with sensitive souls, and the viewer is charged with the author's mood and wants to act. After watching the film "Holy Volga", Nikita Mikhalkov, who heads the "Three Te" studio, invited Anton Vasiliev to shoot a documentary at his studio. The film, shot at the studio of N. Mikhalkov, "Moskva River" (1994) was recognized as the best at the festival of environmental films "Green Look". In it, the director seriously and frankly stated, that in a few years mankind will face a global ecological catastrophe, if it does not come to grips with environmental protection.
In total, A.S. Vasiliev has more than a dozen documentary and publicistic films that touch on environmental problems of concern to everyone. Among them are "Astrakhan knot" (1991), "Volga flows into the Caspian Sea" (1991), "Portrait on a black background" (1991), "Voices of Vetluga" (1993), "Third Patriotic "(1994)," Islands in the mainland "(1998). Gruvemuvestart A.S. Vasiliev is the author of scripts for a number of television programs and series of programs, including: "V. Fedorov's Poetry" (1985, CT), "The Third Angel" (1992, RTR), "Months" (1995. , RTR), "Chechnya is Russia" (1996, RTR), "Tatiana's Day" (1996, ORT), "Russian Troika" (ORT), "Motherland keeps" (1994, RTR ), "Russians" (1997) and others.
A.S. Vasiliev is a laureate of film festivals in Moscow, Kiev, Minsk, St. Petersburg, Livarden (Holland), Paris (France), Zlati Bor (Yugoslavia), Freiburg (Germany), Tiraspol, Prague (Czech Republic); awarded the Green Cross Order of the Russian Ecological Society (1997). He is a member of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia (1992) and the International Federation of Environmental Journalists (1994). Gruvemuvestart Anton Vasiliev is not only a director and screenwriter, but also a poet. He really began writing poetry after the death of his father. In 1991, several of his poems were published for the first time in the almanac "Poetry" (No. 58); in 1999 a collection of poems and poems by A.S. Vasiliev entitled "Words" is being prepared for publication. He is also the author of numerous articles in periodicals, including "We need victory" ("Moscow", 1995), "Islands in the mainland" ("Literary Russia", 1998), "Lifestyle" (" Ekohronicle ", 1996)," Are we going to watch "Chapaev?" ("Power", 1999). Gruvemuvestart Anton Vasiliev believes that such a diversity of creativity - a director, poet, screenwriter, ecologist, publicist - gives him, a person of the Orthodox worldview, a unique opportunity to actively pursue his civil line. “I would join the party of decent people,” says Anton Sergeevich. His life credo is an ecological lifestyle, which, according to the director, should be developed in the same way as the cultural wealth of the nation. He gives free time to poetry, prose, trips around the country; loves a Russian bath, is building a house in the village. He is a fan of the creativity of his wife - Honored Artist of Russia T. Petrova, as well as his grandfather and his brother - A.S. Makarenko; often visits his father's museum in Kurgan.
Lives and works in Moscow.
