February 12, 1927, Odessa, Ukrainian SSR, USSR - January 22, 1988, USSR.
In 1943 he studied at the architectural department of the Civil Engineering Institute, graduated from the directing department of VGIK (1951, workshop of S.A. Gerasimov).
From 1943 he worked in the State Circus, participated in the work of front-line brigades, the drama team of the Central Club of Moscow Builders.
From 1951 to 1958 he shot a number of essays at the Nizhne-Volzhsk and Rostov newsreel studios.
Since 1957 - director of the Gorky film studio. Co-author of the script for the film "Vanka" (short film, together with Eduard Bocharov and Henrikh Oganisyan) .
Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1976) .
He was buried in Moscow at the Golovinskoye cemetery (section 16).
