Born December 18, 1940.
In 1966 he graduated from the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography and was admitted to the troupe of the Leningrad State Theater named after Lenin Komsomol (now the Theater-Festival "Baltic House").
In 1987 he joined the troupe of the Lensovet Theater, and in 1992 he returned to the "Baltic House" .
Since 1995 - Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Professor of the Department of Acting at the Humanities University of Trade Unions.
People's Artist of the RSFSR (1983).
