Alexander Demyanenko - biography, date of birth, place of birth, filmography, clips.
Alexander Sergeevich Demyanenko is one of the most popular Soviet and Russian actors. Most of his heroes are cute eccentrics and noble intellectuals. Demyanenko is the creator of the mask image of Shurik, a cheerful, slightly dull student of the 60s.
After graduating from school number 37 in Sverdlovsk with in-depth study of the German language, Alexander Demyanenko came to study as an actor. After graduating from GITIS, he played for several months on the stage of the Mayakovsky Theater, and then left the capital and settled in Leningrad, where he lived and worked until the end of his days.
However, he was not lucky with the theater - he performed more in entreprise. Nevertheless, from 1984 until his last days he was an artist of the St. Petersburg Comedy Theater named after I. N.P. Akimova, where he played several bright roles. The last works on the stage - the play "Don Pedro" (director: T. Kazakova) played on the stage of the theater together with Mikhail Svetin, also worked at the "Shelter of the Comedian".
In the cinema, the actor made his debut role, which attracted the attention of both viewers and directors to Alexander Demyanenko - in the film by Alexander Alov and Vladimir Naumov "Wind", released in 1958. With the same directors, Demyanenko starred in the film "Peace to the incoming" (1961), thanks to which he was recognized abroad - the tape was awarded several prizes at the Venice festival. In the same year, two films were released that made the actor famous in the USSR - "Dima Gorin's Career" and "Adult Children". Soon Alexander Demyanenko left the Mayakovsky Theater and started working at the Lenfilm film studio. Successful acting work of Demyanenko marked the adventure films "State Criminal" and "Employee of the Cheka".
After the comedy "Operation Y" and other adventures of Shurik, Alexander Demyanenko became a comedian. All three films by Gaidai with Demyanenko's participation - Operation Y and Shurik's Other Adventures, Prisoner of the Caucasus and Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession - were included in the "golden fund" of Soviet comedy cinema. However, the successful image of Shurik hung like a stone on the actor, not allowing him to go beyond the established role.
The directors soon stopped offering interesting roles. Television helped out, where Demyanenko performed in the most unexpected ways and even played one-man performances. Among them are Durrenmatt's Idol, S. Mrozhek's Magic Night, To the very essence and Seven crosses in a notebook by Simenon. Demyanenko managed to create memorable works in several films for directors who were interested in the outstanding dramatic talent of the actor - in "Gloomy River" and in "The Singing Teacher" by Naum Birman. In addition, the actor worked a lot in the theater, starred on television, and voiced animated films.
Alexander Demyanenko was one of the leading dubbing actors - his voice spoke in the "Dead season" scout Ladeinikov performed by Donatas Banionis, as well as foreign actors Omar Sharif, Jean-Paul Belmondo, Hugo Tonyazzi, Robert De Niro, Steve Buscemi, Jon Voight and many others [1].
In 1968, Aleksandr Demyanenko directed the short film Holy Lies on Leningrad television. In the mid-1990s, the chief director of the Comedy Theater named after I. NP Akimova - Tatyana Kazakova came, who had her own plans, and Demyanenko for some reason was not included in them. He moved to the St. Petersburg theater "Shelter of the Comedian", where he immediately played in two performances, which became an event in the theatrical life of the northern capital. In recent years, the actor successfully continued to play on the stage of this theater.
He also starred successfully in the television series Strawberry.
In 1991 he was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR.
The wife of Alexander Demyanenko - Lyudmila Demyanenko (1940-2005), dubbing director. The adopted daughter is actress Angelica Nevolina.
Died on August 22, 1999 after a long illness from heart failure. He was buried in St. Petersburg at the Serafimovskoye cemetery. His wife is buried nearby.
