Alexander Gorbatov, born on November 15, 1915 in the small village of Gorodishche, Moscow Region, is an actor, Honored Artist of the RSFSR, whose title he received in 1988.

Alexander Grigorievich grew up in a working-class family. He graduated from the Moscow Geological Prospecting Institute, from which he graduated in 1939 with a degree in Mining Engineer. For 6 years (1938-1944) he worked at the Geological Institute. In parallel with his work activity in the specialty, Alexander Gorbatov is studying at the course of the people's artist at the State Institute of Theater Arts, successfully completing it in 1944. After receiving his diploma, Gorbatov begins working as an actor at the Moscow Soviet Theater.

From 1949 to 1952 he was in Germany, namely in the city of Potsdam, where he was sent to participate in the second drama theater of the group of Soviet troops. After a long business trip he returned to Moscow, and in 1953 he began to work at the Konstantin Sergeevich Stanislavsky Theater, where he was invited by Mikhail Yanshin, People's Artist of the USSR.

Theatrical roles Alexander Gorbatov received are quite diverse, having both basic and episodic character. The actor managed to take part in more than 50 performances, including theatrical performances based on the works of Maxim Gorky, Mikhail Bulgakov, Stefan Zweig, Franz Kafka, George Bernard Shaw and many others.

Gorbatov's career as an actor not only in theater, but also in cinema dates back to the late 1960s. At this time, Alexander Grigorievich gets a supporting role in the dramatic film by Valery Isakov "Sevastopol". The next acting roles in feature films were the war dramas For Your Destiny and Until the Last Minute, which were released in 1972 and 1973, respectively. After a short break in 1979, Gorbatov played on the same stage with Bogdan Stupka during the filming of Samvel Gasparov's film, and in 1981 he got a role in the adventure drama “One Hundred Joys, or the Book of Great Discoveries”. The last film with Alexander Gorbatov was released in 1990. This is a serial drama "Ravines" directed by Valery Isakov.

Theatrical activity continued until the mid-1990s. Alexander Gorbatov died in 1995 as a result of a serious illness.
