He grew up in the family of an engineer-radiologist at the Admiralty plant, a native of the village of Mikhail Stolbov, and Zinaida Dubnevskaya, the daughter of the owner of a reading room. With the beginning of World War II, my father gave up his armor and went to serve in the militia, where he died in September 1941.
