Alexander Ponomarev was born in 1973, on August 9. This is a famous pop singer in Ukraine, who received the title of People's Artist of Ukraine in 2006. His mother is from Khmelnitsky, and his father is from Donetsk. As a child, little Sasha was an introverted child, because he suffered from anemia. But after recovering, he did not change much, he was quarrelsome and liked to spend time in the company of hooligans. From the age of six he began to engage in professional boxing. Later he discovered the ability to music, but his family did not have money for the boy's musical education, so he got his first piano only after he finished the eighth grade. But before that, the boy learned to play the guitar, to which he often sang in the yards. At the age of twelve, Alexander wrote his first song Saint Anna, dedicated to a classmate, which he sang with a guitar under the windows. During the next boxing sparring, Alexander missed a strong blow to the head, after which his eyesight deteriorated, which led to the need to leave the sport.
Alexander received his education first at the Khmelnytsky School of Music at the conductor-choir department, then at the vocal department at the Lviv Conservatory. For the first time, it was possible to watch Alexander Ponomarev on the big stage in 1993, when he took part in a competition called Chervona Ruta and won first place.
Already in 1995 he was able to get the Grand Prix at the international competition among young Ukrainian performers named after Vladimir Ivasyuk. This competition was held in Chernivtsi. Since 1997, Ponomarev is the owner of the honorary title of Honored Artist of Ukraine.
