A big child - vulnerable and trusting - such was Yuri Bogatyrev in life, and the actor Bogatyrev could play any role from a sharp-natured scoundrel to a highly moral intellectual, from a heroic personality to a shy young man. This is the huge talent of the actor - an outstanding, bright, immensely gifted.

Yuri Georgievich Bogatyrev was born in the Baltic States, and lived and worked in Moscow. The family of little Yura moved to the capital city in connection with the transfer of his father, a military officer. Childhood interests, drawing and acting out puppet shows, determined the hobby and profession. Yuri Bogatyrev painted beautifully and became a sought-after actor.

The School of Industrial Art remained unfinished. Without becoming a carpet master, Yuri Bogatyrev submits documents to the Shchukin school. The obviousness of the correctness of the action was proved by the enrollment and subsequent status of the most talented student of his course.

He began his career as a theater actor in Sovremennik (1971), served at the Moscow Art Theater (1977-1988). Has performed more than thirty roles, including Orsino in the Twelfth Night, Lopakhin in the Cherry Orchard, Alexei Turbin in the Days of the Turbins, Cleant in Tartuffe.

In 1974, the role of the Chekist Yegor Shilov taught Bogatyrev how to fight, ride a horse, and presented the audience with a multifaceted image on the screen.

Director Mikhalkov often invited, starting with his thesis, the actor Bogatyrev in his films. So, in the filmography of the artist, the roles of Sergei Voinitsev appeared in the film adaptation of the Unfinished play for the mechanical piano (1977), Andrei Stolz in the drama, the film adaptation A few days in the life of I. I. Oblomov (1979), Stasik in the tragicomedy Rodnya (1981). The actor created the characteristic image of Stanislav Pavlovich's son-in-law slowly and meticulously, looking for every stroke, the smallest details, shades and nuances. The result exceeded expectations, a small-scale role in the tape became one of the axial ones, and its culmination, no doubt, is a joint dance with mother-in-law (Nonna Mordyukova).

The actor was shot a lot and successfully, films with Yuri Bogatyrev's participation were released three to five films a year. Many of the roles were central, and each was surprisingly subtle.

The audience saw the last film with Yuri Bogatyrev in 1989. The role of King Carlos II in the two-part musical and artistic film Don Cesar de Bazan was final in his forty-one-year-old life.
