Boris Bityukov was born in Orsha, Belarus. From 1937 to 1938 he worked as an actor in the Chamber Theater of the famous director Alexander Tairov, where he was a member of the auxiliary group. Then he entered the Moscow Irrigation and Reclamation Institute in 1939, where he combined his studies with service in the Red Army. From June 1941 to May 1945 he took part in the Great Patriotic War, went for demobilization with the rank of foreman, had two wounds. Since 1946, he forever linked his fate with cinema and worked at the Theater-Studio of the film actor for 45 years. Surprisingly, Bityukov was never a professional actor, but thanks to his talent and enormous capacity for work, he was immensely popular and was loved by millions of viewers.

Having embodied the role of the heroic Young Guard Ivan Zemnukhov on the screen for the first time in the film Young Guard, which was based on the novel of the same name by Alexander Fadeev, the audience immediately fell in love with the actor. Bityukov's next successful acting job was the role of the Russian inventor and designer Sergei Nezhdanovsky, played by him in the historical film Zhukovsky. For this role in 1951, the actor was awarded the Stalin Prize of the 2nd degree. In 1956 Bityukov brilliantly embodies the main role of police captain Mikhail Mozarin in the detective film Case No. 306. The film gained fame as the first Soviet detective story, and Bityukov will forever be remembered as the favorite actor of more than one generation of Soviet policemen. Films with Boris Bityukov's participation have long been included in the Golden Classics of Soviet Cinema Fund.

His trademark was his beautifully played roles, in which he embodied the images of his contemporaries, and participation in many historical films. In the actor's piggy bank there are more than five dozen films, among them one cannot fail to note the excellently played role of the brave Savchuk in the cult Soviet TV series Eternal Call and, as always, with full dedication, played the episodic role of Marusya's father in the famous TV series Walking in Torment. One of the last successful works of the actor was a return to the police theme in the three-episode detective Vertical Race, where he appeared in the role of the criminal Shaman. The last film with Boris Bityukov is the philosophical drama Autumn, Chertanovo, in which he appeared in a small role as a stranger at a funeral. After that, the actor was forced to leave his beloved profession due to a progressive eye disease. He was married to actress Yulianna Bugaeva, the couple have two daughters Olga and Lyudmila. On January 15, 2002, Bityukov died, he was buried in Moscow.
