Charlie Rose was born in Henderson in 1942. At school he was fond of sports, successfully played in the basketball team. After, he entered Duke University. As a student, he did an internship with a North Carolina Senator. In 1964, Charlie was awarded a bachelor of arts degree, in 1968 - a doctorate in law.
