Honored Artist of the Russian Socialist Republic Lavrenty Yemelyanovich Masokha was born in the small village of Pluvaki on August 29, 1909, according to the current territorial distribution, this is the Cherkasy region, Ukraine. His parents were simple peasants, Lavrenty Masokha became the second child in the family, he had an older brother, Peter Masokha. After the end of World War II, Masokha moved to Moscow, where he first worked on the stage of the Theater of the Film Actor Studio from 1945 to 1957, then, starting in 1957, he moved to work in the Maxim Gorky Studio. Being an outstanding actor, viewers most remembered such roles of Lavrenty Masokhi as Makar Lyagotin in the movie Big Life - 1939, Okulita in Two Soldiers - 1943, soldier Petrov in the film Private Alexander Matrosov - 1947, The image of Glushenko in the historical drama The Battle of Stalingrad - 1949, Kostomarov in the film Taras Shevchenko - 1951, Nationalist in the film Pravda - 1957, Loginov's image in They knew only by sight - 1966 , Karloshi in the film Scouts - 1968, Grushevsky in the movie The Kotsyubinsky Family - 1970 and many others.

The last film with Lavrenty Masokha was seen by viewers of the Soviet Union in 1973 under the title Seventeen Moments of Spring, where he played Scholz.
