Born September 21, 1916 into a poor Jewish family in the city of Sebezh, Pskov province, Russian Empire.

Since 1983 - actor of the M.N. Ermolova.
Master of episodic, mostly comedic roles. He had a beautiful and memorable timbre of his voice, worked a lot on dubbing and dubbing films from the author. Zinovy ??Efimovich was over 50 when Pyotr Todorovsky gave him the lead role in his film The Magician.
