Was born on October 7, 1933 in Baku. Graduated from the directing department of VGIK (1959, workshop of M.I.Romm), defended his defense in 1962. In 1953-1954 he was a trainee actor at TsTSA. Since 1959 he has been a director and screenwriter of various film studios, as well as the Ekran company.
