Vasily Ivanovich Korzun was born on March 2, 1924 in the village of Bolshaya Erba. The family was a peasant, my father worked as a farm laborer. After graduating from secondary school in 1941, he voluntarily sent to the army. In 1943, Vasily Korzun graduated from the Artillery School. Kirov in Kiev, received the rank of junior lieutenant and went to fight at the front. In one of the battles he was wounded, spent the final stages of the war in Estonia. After demobilization he received the Order of the Red Star.
In 1946 he goes to study at a theater studio in Irkutsk. After graduating in 1948, he gets a job at the local Youth Theater, where he performs until 1954. The actor spent the next 20 years in theaters in Voronezh, Kuibyshev and Krasnoyarsk. In 1973, Korzun was invited to the Leningrad Drama Theater. Pushkin, from where he was forced to leave after five years of work. The reason is disagreement with Igor Gorbachev, artistic director.
During his performances in theaters he played in a large number of performances. The most successful roles of Vasily Korzun were in such plays as The Minor, Hamlet, Les, The Optimistic Tragedy and others. After finishing his career as a theater actor, Vasily completely focused on cinema, in which he had starred a lot before. He played his best role at the dawn of his film career - it was in the film Karpukhin, where Korzun played the driver of the protagonist.
Almost all films with Vasily Korzun were shot in the 70s and 80s. Some of them are: Declaration of love, Roundabout, Battalions ask for fire and Scene. Most often, the actor played important officials, military or foreigners.
Vasily Korzun died on August 25, 1989 in Leningrad. The grave is located at the Volkovskoye cemetery.
