Vladimir Golovin was born in the spring of 1940 in the city of Kalinin (now Tver). The boy's childhood fell on difficult war and post-war years, but this only contributed to his desire for beauty. At an early age, Vladimir Golovin firmly decided to devote himself to the art of theater and cinema, since his mother was also an actress. Golovin studied acting at GITIS, and then after 10 years he graduated from the directing department. Vladimir Ivanovich worked in various theaters across the country as an actor and as a director.
