Was born on August 7, 1936 in Leningrad.
In 1968 he graduated from the acting department of the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of LGITMiK (workshop of Leonid Makariev).
He worked at the Ryazan Drama Theater, at the Gorky Bolshoi Drama Theater, at the Pushkin Leningrad Theater.
Since 1977 he worked as an assistant director, second director at the Lenfilm film studio .
An actor with the brightest comedic talent, became especially popular after playing the main roles in the films directed by Yuri Mamin "The Feast of Neptune", "Fountain", "Window to Paris" .
He passed away in St. Petersburg on March 18, 1994 after a serious illness. The actor was buried near St. Petersburg at the cemetery in the village of Komarovo.
