Konstantin Gradopolov was born in January 1904 in Moscow. In 1940 he became the Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, in 1956 - the Honored Trainer of the USSR, also received the title of Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR. Konstantin began boxing at the age of sixteen, and Vyacheslav Samoilov became his coach. At first he studied at the Main Military School of Physical Education, from which he graduated in 1922. A year later, Konstantin began to participate in a sports society called "Dynamo". Acting in various competitions, he fought 58 fights from 1921 to 1928. He has 48 victories, of which 24 he ended by knockout. 17 international meetings were held, in which he won 15 victories. In 1926 he won the first USSR Championship.
In the twenties, Konstantin also studied with famous directors. From 1925 to 1926 he studied at the cinema workshop of Lev Kuleshov, and from 1927 to 1928 - with Sergei Yutkevich. Konstantin Gradopolov began to play his first roles already during his studies with Yutkevich. Over the twenty years of his acting career, Konstantin starred in fifteen films and worked in another as a boxing consultant. Also from 1954 to 1960 he was the coach of the Soviet national boxing team. Jacob Brown, Fyodor Brest, Alexander Pavlov, Vladimir Ezerov, Nikolai Korolev are famous USSR boxing champions trained by Konstantin. In addition to all this, he published more than seventy of his own works, in which he described various useful techniques, as well as many theories in boxing.
