Studied at the school of film actors at the Mosfilm film studio (1937-1941). As a student, he was invited by Grigory Roshal to play the main role in the painting "The Oppenheim Family" (1938).
From 1945 to 1959 he was an actor in the Film Actor's Studio Theater.
From 1959 to 1992 - actor of the M. Gorky Central Children's Art School.
Vladimir Balashov Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1955). Laureate of the Stalin Prize of the first degree (1951). Member of the CPSU since 1954.
