Since 1966, after graduating from high school, Galina is a professional theater actress.

In 1966-1967 she was an actress at the Skomorokh Moscow Amusement Theater under the direction of GI Yudenich.

In 1967-1971 she was an actress of the theater studio "Skylark", where she played several main roles, including the role of Jeanne in the play "Skylark" by J. Anuy, staged by BI Ablynin (1968). This was the main theatrical role in the life of Galina.

In 1973-1974 she was an actress of the Moskontsert. She acted as a reader.

Since February 1974 she has been an actress at MTYUZ. Galina was accepted into the troupe as one of eight newcomers, and within a few months she got her first leading role.

In 1974-1978 Galina Venevitinova was one of the leading actresses of the theater. She played up to 200 performances per season, of which she has the main role in every third performance.

After 1978, the actress's career began to decline.

Galina Venevitinova was a talented and versatile actress, who was subject to many theatrical genres, but the directors of the MTYUZ offered Galina, mainly, roles in fairy tales and musical performances, using the actress's excellent external and vocal data. In parallel with her theatrical activities, Galina worked on television (played in television plays and starred in television programs), on the radio, and performed as a singer in concert programs. But Galina Venevitinova was still unfamiliar to the mass Soviet audience. She did not act in films until 1980, in television performances she played mainly small roles, and television programs with her participation, for the most part, were intended, through the Main Directorate of Foreign Relations of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting, for demonstration in other countries.

In 1980, the actress found out that she was seriously ill.

Until December 1983, Galina Venevitinova, despite her illness, continued to work at MTYUZ. In 1981-1983, she played in the theater a little, mostly no more than 10 performances a month, she had to be absent for a long time due to treatment.
